The Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students provides communication skill development and content area instruction for students aged 3 to 21.

 

Program Overview/Services:

 

  • Certificated Teachers of the Deaf
  • Certificated Speech amd Language Pathologist
  • Psychologist fluent in ASL
  • Audiologist onsite at Bow Lake Elementary
  • Counselor fluent in ASL serving all ages
  • OT/PT services
  • High school students served at the Academy of Citizenship and Empowerment (Tyee Campus)
  • Middle school students served at Chinook Middle School
  • Preschool, primary and intermediate students served at Bow Lake Elementary
  • All students' communication modes are encouraged
  • Interpreter services provided in general eduction classes and extra-curricular activities
  • District curriculum used when appropriate and modified, supplemented or differentiated to provide individually designed instruction
  • Small classes with small group and 1:1 support
  • Parent support and education
