The Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students provides communication skill development and content area instruction for students aged 3 to 21.
Program Overview/Services:
- Certificated Teachers of the Deaf
- Certificated Speech amd Language Pathologist
- Psychologist fluent in ASL
- Audiologist onsite at Bow Lake Elementary
- Counselor fluent in ASL serving all ages
- OT/PT services
- High school students served at the Academy of Citizenship and Empowerment (Tyee Campus)
- Middle school students served at Chinook Middle School
- Preschool, primary and intermediate students served at Bow Lake Elementary
- All students' communication modes are encouraged
- Interpreter services provided in general eduction classes and extra-curricular activities
- District curriculum used when appropriate and modified, supplemented or differentiated to provide individually designed instruction
- Small classes with small group and 1:1 support
- Parent support and education
