Highline Takes Precautions for Swine Flu
updated 5/4/09 12:10 p.m.
King County Public Health is modifying instructions to the community as more becomes known about this particular strain of H1N1 (swine) flu. See below for the link to Public Health for the latest information as it becomes available.
To limit the spread of flu, we should all be aware of flu symptoms and practice common sense prevention. Here are some things to remember and to discuss with your child:
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- If you get sick with influenza, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
- Avoid spreading germs: don’t share beverages, and use other common sense precautions.
For updated information, please check this website regularly.
